The video event came from the interest in recording things for posterity rather than professional. Gilbert's brother is pretty active in all sorts of ways. (waterski, karting, circuit racing, etc.) It was a logical consequence that Gilbert wanted to capture these things by video. All the more so that he could capture the dynamics and speed. But the interest grew into what it has become today.
But still, every day, the learning process continues to grow. Videography remains a challenge where digital techniques have also turned it into an endless growth process.
In his photography career, Gilbert had already been well acquainted with video since he had already made professional video recordings and montages for a sister company (TVN). Back then, it was with the analog techniek “betacam” tapes and editing recorders, a very time-consuming business and with very limited capabilities, especially when compared to the current digital capabilities.
